Sketchbook · pages from the desk

The half of the work that never gets framed.

taped in like a real notebook. don't open it sideways.

Ink doodles of birds, moths and leaves
everything that landed on my desk in march.

i drew this twice because i didn't like the wing.

Boy reading his own old notebook on the floor
rereading the small one i had in foster care.
Open notebook with handwritten poem
first draft of a poem about the green light.

this page is from the day everything was loud.

Hands on an AAC speech app
the app i 'talk' with. it sounds nothing like me.
Notebook, leaf and bow
tuesday, leaf, bow, the same coffee cup again.

i drew this twice because i didn't like the wing.

Writing in a sketchbook
writing the line that became 'digital chains'.

Why a sketchbook page

Because the finished work is only half of it.

I keep a notebook on the desk all the time. Most pages don't become anything, they're just the room where the poems and drawings get to be loud first.

These are the ones I don't mind being seen. Nothing is for sale. The rest of the work, the cleaner version, lives on Work and Writing.

don't tell my management i put these here.
